GoHike aims to protect your privacy where it is needed.

Due to the nature of this website, many things that you submit to the website become viewable by other members of the website and by the general public. Submissions such as hiking routes, GPS tracks, forum posts, and bookmarks are all shared on a public-facing website and most of these items also display your username.

The following information is not shared on or by the GoHike website:

• Your e-mail address, home address or telephone number (unless you share these in a public medium such as a forum post)
• Your password
• The contents of any message you send via the website

GoHike will NEVER sell your personal information to any third party, nor will we send you unrelated e-mail messages. We will, on an irregular basis, send you e-mail messages relating directly to your GoHike account.

We will send you notifications when certain events happen on the GoHike website. We may also post to your Facebook or Twitter profile, if you have provided us with permission to do so. You can unsubscribe from some or all of these notifications on your notices pages.

Whilst we take all possible actions to the contrary, we provide no guarantee that your data will not be stolen or otherwise taken from our servers without our knowledge. We will not knowingly give away your information, and we will try to stop it being stolen.
